Geoff visting the "Collossi
of Memnon", the huge statues of King Amenhotep III that once flanked
the entrance to his mortuary temple,
Luxor West Bank, November 2003. Photo by Shahat Wannan, Guide Extraordinaire!
Most people know me as an astronomer.
I've spent over 40 years involved in this field, both as an
amateur and in a professional capacity.
However, my second love has
always been the study of the culture of ancient Egypt. In
November 2003, for my 50th birthday, my family sent me on a 10-day trip
to visit the land known to its inhabitants as Kemet, "the
Black Land".
Ultimately, I hope to expand
these pages to include both of my passions, but for now I hope that you
enjoy some of the offerings below.
